This can vary at different area events, with an average of around 15-20 and a maximum of approximately 50 contestants, with approx 50 in the grand final in Paris.
Who will watch the show?
Friends and family will be invited to buy tickets for each event. Members of the press will also be in attendance. The public can also buy tickets to attend any of the heats.
How is it judged?
All contestants will be marked on the following list of attributes, including beauty, interview, stage presence and confidence.
You will also have a pre-judging interview which is an informal one to one chat with the judges off stage.
Judges will select their top five during the first rounds, and award the order and final points during the stage interview.
On the day of each area heat, every finalist will meet the judges one on one away from the other contestants and audience before the main event. This is an informal interview so the judges can get an idea of your character and personality.
Who will the judges be?
There will be approximately 3-10 judges at each regional heat. You will be advised who the judges are on the day of the finals. We will not be able to announce the details of all judges prior to the final so as to avoid any conflicting behaviour prior to the contest, unless in the case of any celebrity appearances.
What do I have to wear?
There are usually 2 or 3 rounds at each Heat, including 'Daywear', and 'Evening Dress' . You will NOT be asked to wear a bikini or swimsuit.
Evening dress is formal evening gown, preferably no shorter than knee length, though full length is most suited.
The outfits can be anything you like, as long as you feel comfortable in it.
Once you have submitted your application and photos to us, we will review all applicants and notify you if you have been successful in qualifying for your heat. This is usually within 48 hours. Please ensure your e-mail is enabled to receive messages from us by adding us to your safe list.
Sponsors
All contestants are required to find a sponsor. This can be from a business or from friends and family members. You shall receive full sponsorship information should your application be successful, and our team will be on hand to help and give helpful advise with this.
On The Day
If successful you will receive an information pack which will include an itinary & timings, along with advise to what to bring with you. Please read through your information pack carefully before arriving as this will answer most of your questions. The day of the the regional heat will usually begin with rehearsals where you will get a chance to meet all the other finalists. You will be trained by an experienced pageant choreographer on how to move and hold yourself on stage. This is nothing too complicated, just simple yet effective routines, designed to show YOU off at your best!
You will have a lunch break and a chance to relax before being given plenty of time to prepare for the show.
You will compete in 2-3 rounds usually including pre-contest interview, daywear and evening dress during which you will be interviewed on stage. These questions will be focused around you, so nothing that you won't already know the answers to!
THERE IS NO SWIMSUIT ROUND!
Practice talking in front of a mirror or friends and family before the finals or maybe even a video camera to get used to talking in front of a crowd and projecting your voice.
The top three or top five finalists including the winner will be announced at the end of the night. Some shows may also be followed with an After Show party for all contestants and audience.
